About Us
|
About us and our journey Rangi Ruru Pre-school was opened in 1989, to enhance the original nanny education programme at the Rangi Ruru Early Childhood College, to cater for children of staff of Rangi Ruru Girls' School and provide a childcare service for the local community. The centre was re-designated as a community-based centre in 2005. The pre-school is a department of the Rangi Ruru Early Childhood College and is managed by the Rangi Ruru Girls' School Board of Governors (Inc). The centre is fully licensed and chartered by the Ministry of Education to reflect the fundamental values, beliefs, ethics and ideals of early childhood education in New Zealand. We are guided by Te Whāriki, the New Zealand early childhood curriculum. We have built our sound reputation by providing a warm, caring environment, supporting children's learning and introducing toddlers to a group care setting. Our quality staff ratios and programme provide children with diverse learning pathways and opportunities in small, intimate groups. Children (both boys and girls) from the local and wider community are able to attend our centre, including the children of Rangi Ruru Girls' School staff and Early Childhood College staff and students. What our families say about their child's experience at Rangi Ruru Pre-school... "We appreciate the professionalism of all the staff and value the time that S has had here. He has had many wonderful learning opportunities and experiences." "You have helped J to become confident, independent, well-spoken, well-mannered, considerate, empathetic and lots and lots of fun." "M has been so supported and nurtured whilst in your care and he heads off to school now with plenty of confidence and readiness to take on new challenges and experiences."
